Hey guys,
What's up. At first, I hadn't planned on adding a blog because I felt that maybe I'd do a couple elites really quick, get bored of them and say screw it. That is, until I got my first Elite Clue. I've got to say, holy crap was that a great rush. 9 different steps, 3 of which were Sherlocks (one that I had to train a level or 2 to even accomplish) and nearly ran me around the entire map. It was a great rush, a great time, and I cannot wait to find my second Elite.
About my plans, I will start to comb the internet looking for all of these elite clues, and definitely will start putting together a setup and things of that nature (as I had to run back to the bank a few different times because I was definitely NOT prepared for what I was facing). Two more creatures to face, rather than seeing the wizards and double agents all the time, one of which (an armadyl type enemy) needing a ranged or magic attack. So, yes, I will need to change up my beginning inventory so I don't have to talk to a banker twenty times in an elite run.
On the note of my Elite Clue (mind you this isn't xp waste, as I'm currently "afking" slayer monsters while writing this), it was a great drop. I went through nearly 2 tasks of both Mith Dragons and Abby Demons, and had even killed nearly three inventories worth of Abby Demons the first day, only to go completely dry. After a few more tasks of slayer, Duradel gave me another task of Steel Dragons. I go there, pot up, spec with my DDS and finish him off with the Zammy Hasta, to see an Elite sitting there. Honestly, I started laughing my ass off, just glad to be doing an elite clue.
The first part made me rage right off the bat. I gained the "Three rules below and three sit up top. Come dig at my entrance." My idiotic self, after knowing that I had to dig at the "entrance" to DKS, spent 30 minutes checking guides and getting myself all the way to the ladder leading down to the infamous Dagannoth Kings' Lair. After nearly dying and digging every spot at that position, I asked a cc, only to learn that I had to dig at the entrance, back on Waterbirth Island -_-. Needless to say I was a bit pissed off after that. My second clue sent me to the now famous Sherlock, who told me to cut a Yew log. I've cut thousands so I started feeling good about getting past Sherlock, not knowing I'd be seeing him three separate times...
My third clue (co-ordinate) sent me to the Wilderness Volcano, somewhere I barely knew existed, one of the great things about clues. I decided to go straight there, not realizing these two new creatures existed either. I hit the spot, dug, and encountered the new Armadyl creature, having to go all the way back to pick up my Rune Crossbow. After the swift kill once returning (praying range), I received another co-ordinate to Crash island, encountering the second creature, a troll like creature with Melee attacks. My fifth clue sent me to Nietznot (another co-ordinate), which, after encountering the Armadyl again (and having to go to the bank AGAIN) I returned, only to find the troll, meaning that it's random EVERY TIME.
My sixth and seventh clue was both Sherlock clues, the first asking me to make a super defence potion. Unfortunately, this potion is created with 66 Herblore, of which mine was 64. Therefore, I spent an hour finding cheap herblore items, including making Serum 207s with the crazy amount of ashes and tarromins I had. I got myself to 65 and then used a greenman's ale to put myself to 66 and made a potion really quick. After this, I received a clue to kill a Dust Devil, which took me all of five minutes. My eighth and final clue sent me back deep into the wilderness, to the Fountain of rune. Destroying an Armadyl creature, I finally received my clue loot: Dragon Mace, Rune Crossbow, Rune Platelegs, 2 Runite Bars, and 32 Tuna Potatoes. It was a decent loot for a clue, but not for the time spent (although, I wasn't expecting third age weapons the first elite).
TL;DR Above is my clue loot and my steps to take, below is my future plans.
After all that, I went straight back to slaying monsters, waiting on my second Elite to drop. I plan on updating this at least every week, if not every elite clue. If you have questions or possible ideas, let me know, I'll be adding a form that goes straight to my phone so that I can reply as quickly as possible, or just send me a message in game. Hope everyone is having fun looking for these new clues and just in general having fun.
